Good way to
bring this blog out of dormancy is to announce a major life event – I got my
first motorcycle! Yayyy!
This has been in
the works for a while, almost a year anyway and the multitude of options
combined with whether I would merely end up splurging on just a passing fancy
reduced me to a waffling juvenile. Some of that has been captured online in the

The wife finally
decided she had had enough with the questions directed to her about the pros
and ons of each (these were monologues really and she doesn’t have too much of
a clue anyway on 2 wheelers beyond gearless scooters) and forced me to bite the
bullet. I ended up booking the legendary Yamaha R15 S (yes they brought back
the single seat)

and have already clocked more than 6k kms in less than 6 months. Nearby
destinations like the much abused Nandi hills, the Bangalore biker’s loop
(Kanakpura – Anchetty – Hosur – Bangalore) Yelagiri and even overnighters to
Chikmagalur have all been dispatched on this little gem with barely a sweat
broken (ok maybe I did sweat a bit, at least in the recent rides in the brutal
heat).
